The Elimination Diet

digestive system elimination diet

The Digestive System

What is the purpose of an elimination diet? To identify foods that cause sensitive gut, food intolerances, and allergic or uncomfortable gastrointestinal symptoms. During the elimination period, eliminate foods that commonly cause allergic symptoms from the diet for two to four weeks. After your symptoms improve, slowly incorporate foods back into your diet, one at a time to determine what foods are provoking disagreeable symptoms.

Castor oil packs are a welcome addendum to ANY cleanse or digestive Concern.

Aromatherapy Diffuser and Essential oils

relaxation Aromatherapy diffuser essential oils

Clients have asked me, "What kind of diffuser do you like?" I prefer a diffuser that uses water; distilled water is better when using a diffuser as it keeps down on mineral deposits and helps your unit last longer. You can occasionally clean your water reserve with white vinegar; let the vinegar sit overnight and then rinse and dry. I've had my Aromatherapy diffuser for over four years, and it still works great.

What essential oils should I use in my diffuser? It depends on what you are working to achieve; however, I do not use a few plant essential oils in the diffuser as they either leave a residue in the water chamber or require extra cleanup. So, for this reason, I avoid using viscous essential oils like Vetiver, Myrrh, or heavy resin plant essences. Due to the natural blue nature, I typically avoid plant essences that contain the organic compound Azulene like German Chamomile, Blue Tansy, Yarrow, or Blue Cypress. If you use essential oils with a naturally occurring blue color, you can remove the staining from the water chamber with a rag soaked in rubbing alcohol afterward.

Moving along now, let's get into my favorite essential oils I like to use in the Aromatherapy diffuser, the assistive properties, to achieve various beneficial outcomes. And while it is not my complete list, it is undoubtedly at the top for multiple reasons.

Millet loaf recipe

Grain millet early grain
Millet is considered an ancient grain. The most common varieties are Pearl, foxtail, Proso, and Finger millet. Millet belongs to the Poaceae family (the grasses) and is grown in semi-arid regions, drought-tolerant, and annual warm weather crops.

The nutritional benefits of millet are noteworthy; high in Protein, fiber, phosphorus, magnesium, B-6, and iron. Gluten-free, alkalizing, great for the bones, and balanced for blood sugar levels.

Millet Loaf is a favorite of mine. Millet is paired nicely with a homemade mushroom gravy seasoned with thyme and any green veggie. Make some mashed potatoes if you want this meal to scream comfort food, or make a holiday vegetarian holiday meal: Millet loaf, a homemade mushroom gravy seasoned with thyme, carrots sauteed with ginger, Yukon mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and green beans.
